Environmental, Health & Safety Training Courses

These courses promote sound work practices and are designed to satisfy many of the environmental, health, and safety regulations for initial and refresher employee training. Many of our EH&S courses are also available in Spanish. These courses are denoted with an asterisk after the course number.

100 Anthrax Awareness
Examines types of anthrax infections, including symptoms and treatment, and appropriate responses if anthrax is suspected in suspicious letters or packages. (35 minutes)

101 Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
Examines the history and epidemiology of SARS and lists precautions to be taken by professionals who are at greatest risk for contracting the disease. (50 minutes)

102 Pandemic Awareness
Examines the history and epidemiology of SARS and lists precautions to be taken by professionals who are at greatest risk for contracting the disease. (50 minutes)

331 Heat Stress
Discusses the signs, symptoms, and treatment of heat stress. Also covers techniques for heat stress prevention. (40 minutes)

333 Basics of Electrical Safety
Discusses the signs, symptoms, and treatment of heat stress. Also covers techniques for heat stress prevention. (40 minutes)

334 Electrical Installations: Lockout/Tagging
Covers safety practices meant to keep operators safe while working around electricity. This course teaches the correct way to use lockout/tagout procedures and discusses how to verify a de-energized condition. (15 minutes)

335 Electrical Installations: Energized Parts
Teaches how to properly work on or around energized parts to avoid electrocution. Who may work on energized parts, what constitutes an energized area, and proper gear and safety precautions are also discussed. (15 minutes)

336 Electrical Safety: Flexible Cord Equipment
Explains how to properly manage equipment when dealing with electricity, including proper handling and inspection to ensure safety. This course also describes how to ground equipment, work in conductive locations, and test equipment. (15 minutes)

337 Electrical Installations: Training and PPE
Describes safety training for employees who face a risk of electric shock during equipment installation and explains the basic safety equipment utilized to make an area as safe as possible. (15 minutes)

353 Field Hazard Recognition
Discusses the importance of hazard recognition skills to effective job safety analysis and personal safety. It discusses when to use hazard recognition skills, common sources of hazards, and resources to help with hazard recognition. It also discusses the four types of hazards, control methods, assessment techniques, and reporting a hazard. (30 minutes)

354 Forklift Basics, Operation, and Safety
Discusses the features and safety factors that are intrinsic to the design, load handling, and operation of forklifts. (50 minutes)

355 Medical Surveillance, Screening, and Records
Medical Surveillance, Screening, and Records discusses the importance of surveillance as it affects overall occupational health. It discusses how employees’ health in the workplace is monitored and how companies collect and report employee medical data in order to create a safer workplace. (30 minutes)

356 Office Hazard Recognition
Addresses office safety, including the causes of common injuries that can occur in an office, and the annual rate of injuries.(20 minutes)

801 Back Safety
Summarizes the anatomy of the back and the signs and symptoms of back injury. It also teaches workers to recognize workplace hazards that cause back injury and to reduce injury risks by managing heavy physical workloads, learning the mechanics of lifting, applying proper lifting techniques, building core body strength, and eliminating or minimizing hazards when possible. (40 minutes)
