Confined Space Entry
Students will be able to:
- Define Permit-Required Confined Space
- Identify the three major atmospheric hazards and the concentration that is safe for entry
- Identify the order in which atmospheric hazards must be tested
- Discuss signs and symptoms that might be associated with exposure to atmospheric hazards
- Discuss the physical hazards associated with confined spaces
- Discuss the information contained on permits
- Identify several methods that can be used to control atmospheric hazards
- Identify four roles personnel may perform when entering confined spaces
- Describe the role of an entrant, attendant, rescuer, and supervisor
In addition to presentation of the course material, the following must be done to fulfill the regulatory requirements:
- Review the permit used by the company
- Identify the confined spaces found in the workplace
- Present the hazards specifically associated with the confined spaces found in the workplace
- Demonstrate the use of specialized PPE and rescue equipment
