Privacy Policy

Global Safety Network (GSN) has created the following statement in order to demonstrate its commitment to client and consumer privacy. GSN is a North Dakota-based e-business provider of information services to employers, landlords and other business clients located throughout the United States. GSN collects and uses personal information for legitimate business purposes only, and our privacy policy is to continue to protect the privacy rights of both clients and consumers. GSN does not collect and store consumer information gathered from our web site.

GSN is regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act as well as by state laws. In accordance with the requirements of the Fair Credit Reporting Act and state laws, GSN does not disclose, either directly or indirectly, to any person, firm or corporation, information of any kind, nature or description concerning matters affecting or relating to the business of its clients or consumers unless the information is already in the public domain or disclosure is permitted by law. Some examples include: a permissible purpose under the FCRA, providing information to industry regulators, to law enforcement agencies, for fraud prevention, or by court order.

GSN regularly assesses, manages and controls risks relating to the security and confidentiality of the information obtained through the general course of business. GSN has physical and electronic controls in place to protect the information against unauthorized access or use. Access to consumer information is restricted via access level to employees on a need to know basis with such access defined by the client. Security enhancing software, password protection on database access for employees and clients, compliance audits, employee training, backup and recovery procedures, physically secure office buildings and procedural safeguards are used to assure consumer privacy.

Information about consumers may be shared internationally under limited circumstances, such as if and when we prepare a background report on an individual who is or was living or working internationally.

California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA): Recognizing that consumers are already provided with accuracy and privacy protections under the federal Fair Credit Reporting Act, the California Consumer Credit Reporting Agencies Act, and the California Investigative Consumer Reporting Agencies Act expressly exempts background screening companies from compliance with the CCPA.  As a consumer, you still have rights and protections.  Please read this Privacy Policy to learn about the information we collect and how we collect it, and review the your rights under the Fair Credit Reporting Act on how you can review your file and dispute inaccuracies.

Notice to California Consumers: GSN occasionally provides investigative consumer reports about residents of the State of California.  If you would like GSN to provide you with additional information regarding our privacy practices or if you believe your personal information has been compromised, please contact us using any method listed at the bottom of this page.

The following describes specific interaction with GSN websites and how the information collected is used and stored.

Global Safety Network:
      Uses client IP addresses to diagnose problems with its server, and to administer its web site. IP addresses are kept solely in web-server
        log files and are not used to identify individual clients. IP Addresses are not linked to client accounts or any other demographic
        information.
    •  Uses cookies to track the position of its clients within its site. This cookie is a session cookie, and it is discarded when the browser is
        exited.        •  Uses persistent cookies to house data, which is used to authenticate client terminal access to its secure site.        •  Neither requests nor displays client account information.   •  Uses account information in the following ways: client contact information is used to send information, to market new and       additional services, or to further communicate as necessary; and financial information is collected for billing purposes and used for         the collection of past-due accounts or for marketing purposes.

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically to reflect new products and services or as necessary to reflect new business practices.
